What does invisible watermarking do?

An invisible watermark encodes a short message directly into your image's pixel data using a neural network. The change is imperceptible to the human eye — your image looks identical before and after. But the message is there, recoverable by the ForensicMark detector at any time. Use it to trace leaks, prove ownership, and build a chain of custody for your visual assets.

How robust is it?

Most watermarking systems (DWT, DCT, classic steganography) break as soon as an image is transformed. ForensicMark uses a neural model trained specifically to survive real-world abuse:

Transform Classic (DWT/DCT) ForensicMark
JPEG compression (quality 50)Often failsSurvives
Resize / downscaleOften failsSurvives

Who uses invisible watermarking?

  • AI image generation platforms embedding provenance at generation time
  • Photographers and agencies protecting client work before delivery
  • Media companies tracking where licensed assets appear online
  • Enterprises complying with EU AI Act Article 50 watermarking requirements
  • Legal and compliance teams building chain-of-custody evidence

How competitors compare

Other invisible watermarking tools exist, but most require account creation, charge per image, or rely on fragile frequency-domain techniques that break under common transforms. Here is what the current competitive landscape looks like.

Screenshot of a competitor invisible watermarking tool showing its upload interface and pricing page, requiring account sign-up before use
Competitor tool 1 — requires account creation and charges per image after a limited free tier.
Screenshot of a second competitor invisible watermarking service showing a desktop-only workflow with no API access and limited format support
Competitor tool 2 — desktop-only workflow with no API, limiting automation and batch processing.
Screenshot of a third competitor invisible watermarking tool showing fragile DCT-based watermarking that fails under JPEG compression and cropping
Competitor tool 3 — uses DCT-based embedding that fails under JPEG compression and crop transforms.

ForensicMark is free for up to 20 images per day with no account required. The neural-network model survives the transforms listed above, and an API is available for teams that need unlimited throughput or programmatic access.
